Great narrative and wonderful use of words... Some of her books should have added a little more to the ending or even one last chapter so the main character's future would have been more clear for real closure... but I really love Adrienne's writing... It let me escape the real world for just a little while.
I have lived like this for 40+ years and know how hard life can really be living like this... SPARKY

PS: One of my favorites... Please don't stop writing these wonderful stories...

Breakdown edition by Adrienne Nash Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Starts off good and I in particular enjoyed when Alexander moved in with the girls and Jay started to transform in into Zandra. The first evening with the girls was enjoyable, but I think Alexander turned into Zandra too quickly. It would have been better if he had had some periods as Alexander and gone through some more makeover sessions. He simply changed his sex too soon. I had difficulties in finishing reading because I lost interest in what her life as a "daughter" in the new family was.
It is always a pleasure to read a story of one of us succeeding and finding happiness. I liked the character, the setting, and her friends. I don’t hesitate to recommend it.
A nice story simple but enjoyable. I have grown to like the stories by Ms Nash. Her writing has gotten better.
The author provided the reader with an enjoyable plot and excellent cast of characters. Although the lead character had everything work out for her, the author provided the story with enough balance to show the inner turmoil of a transgender person and some of the challengers faced by such persons. The book moved at a nice place and the characters were well-developed. You'll enjoy the read!
Lovely fairytale! Well written, though the UK grammar took some getting used too. Worth the read if this is your genre!!
I enjoyed reading this novel. IT Obviously takes place in the UK. Required rereading some passages to pick up the meaning. Used Google maps to follow the changing setting. Some of the customs and slang took a bit of effort for a New Yorker to follow. I have met a number of TG women here in the states. Their lives have been much more difficuit. The cost surgery here is limiting factor. The trials and tribulations of living and working as a girl in the U.S. make this a cute fairy tale. enjoyable but not close to the reality of life
outside major coastal cities. Also conveniently skipped over the amount of pain after SRS surgery. Four stars for a happy ending and discussing the emotional turmoil TG suffer.
A truly delightful story which seems to cover a lifetime for the main characters in less than two years of subjective time - the author packing so much into that short time span. The use of first person narrative works well, with only a few confusing spots of dialogue where it becomes difficult to tell which character is speaking. The ending seems rushed, perhaps due to how fully fleshed out the rest of the story appears to be. However it does wrap up the story rather well, while still leaving room for a sequel. All in all, an enjoyable read that kept my interest and had me sitting up late into the morning to finish it.
